Bio:
Dr. Malkiel Cohen brings extensive expertise in developing novel stem cell and genomic engineering technologies, with a strong emphasis on their applications in animal and alternative proteins. By applying multidisciplinary approaches that integrate biology and engineering, Dr. Cohen drives the development of cutting-edge technologies. Dr. Cohen serves as VP of R&D at Wanda Fish, a FoodTech startup pioneering cellular agriculture and food engineering technologies to produce cultivated whole-cut Bluefin Tuna fillets. In his previous role, he led research at eggXYt, where he advanced stem cell and gene-editing technologies to enhance animal protein production while improving livestock health and welfare. His academic background includes a postdoctoral fellowship at MIT’s Whitehead Institute and a PhD from the HUJI, where he developed novel platforms for studying human development and disease using pluripotent stem cells.
